Strategies for Success with VBP\, QRP\, and PDPM\nDid you know that the only industry more regulated than long term care is nuclear power plant facilities? As crazy as that may sound\, this is the world we live in. Facilities are expected not only to meet the regulatory standards of Value Based Purchasing (VBP)\, Quality Reporting Program (QRP) and the Improving Medicare Post-Acute Care Transformation (IMPACT) Act\, but to exceed them. Last October\, facilities were given a jolt when the 2% reduction in payment occurred under VBP. Then an additional 40% of the facilities across the country received no incentive payment\, and many also received a QRP penalty as well. This year will be even more challenging than the last. October 1\, 2019\, ushered in the new Medicare A patient driven payment model (PDPM).
